Capturing the Beauty of Cader Idris: A Study Piece for Art Enthusiasts

As an artist, I have been commissioned to create a semi-abstract painting of Cader Idris, also known as Penygader. Cadair Idris (also known as Cader Idris) is a mountain located in Snowdonia National Park in Wales, UK. In Welsh, "Cadair Idris" means "Chair of Idris". According to Welsh legend, Idris Gawr (Idris the Giant) was a giant who used the mountain as his seat, hence the name "Chair of Idris". The mountain is popular among hikers and climbers for its challenging terrain and stunning views.
The first step in the process is creating a study piece, a smallish painting that serves as a preliminary work before moving on to a larger, more detailed painting.

Before starting my study piece, I wanted to experience Cader Idris for myself. So, I decided to embark on a trek up the Pony Path with my tiny dog, Tia. Despite being a senior dog, Tia did so well and kept up with me every step of the way. Her energy and enthusiasm were a joy to witness, and it was heartwarming to see her enjoy the journey as much as I did.
The lush greenery, rocky terrain, and stunning vistas along the way were truly awe-inspiring, and I made sure to capture these beautiful scenes through photographs and sketches that would serve as valuable references for my study piece.

One of the highlights of our trek up the mountain, was the stunning glimpse of the ocean in the distance. I could see Barmouth and the bridge crossing the estuary basking in sunlight. I was even able to see the Llŷn Peninsula on the horizon. A beautiful contrast from the looming mist that lay above us. The beauty of this panoramic view inspired me further to create a painting that will capture the essence of this stunning landscape.

After reaching the top of the mountain, the mist finally descended, and we decided to turn around. Tia was tired but content, and she slept the entire journey home like a baby. I was pleased with her for being such a trooper and grateful for the opportunity to share this experience with her.
My goal as an artist is to create a semi-abstract painting for my client that captures the essence of Cader Idris - the stunning landscape, the rugged terrain, and the mountain's mythical history. By using a mix of abstract and realistic elements, I hope to convey the beauty and power of this iconic mountain for my client.

The initial study piece I create will be a small, but beautiful painting that showcases the essence of Cader Idris. If accepted by my client, I will then proceed to paint a larger, more detailed version of the artwork. This painting will be a beautiful addition to any art enthusiast's collection and will be a fitting tribute to the beauty and majesty of Cader Idris.
In conclusion, the process of creating a study piece of Cader Idris is a rewarding experience that has allowed me to connect with the natural beauty of this iconic mountain. By using my artistic skills, I am inspired to capture the essence of this landscape for my client. I hope to share my love of Cader Idris with art enthusiasts around the world and create a painting that is a true work of art, inspired by the beauty of the mountain and my unforgettable experience trekking up the Pony Path with Tyni Tia.
